The start of Singapore-based smart mobility RushOwl announced yesterday (December 27) that it had closed a $ 650,000 round of funding, with more than three times as many subscriptions as planned.
The shift was attended by angel investors from Seeds Capital, Enterprise Singapore, Silicon Solution Ventures, The Workplace Accelerator and innovation, HR and the public transport sector.
Founded in 2018, RushOwl offers on-demand and regional routes to meet the needs of all passengers, and also partners with fleet owners, smart cities and governments around the world to create digitalized transport infrastructure.
To date, it has worked with established actors in smart cities such as JTC, HDT (Electric Bus Maker, a subsidiary of BYD China) and SMRT to provide intelligent mobility solutions to passengers.
According to the startup, the funds will be used to deploy the RushTrail Travel Sharing Product in Asia Pacific (APAC).
Take the direct bus from anywhere to work
The Smart Mobility app helps send passengers directly to their daily destinations to cover journeys from the first mile to the last mile, and handles more than 3,000 trips a day to the entire island. There has been a 400 per cent increase in the number of passengers since 2019 as the search for an alternative to direct transport from home to work during the pandemic.
With the RushTrail app, passengers can unlock reliable transportation services based on their personal timetables.
An AI module will automatically facilitate travel by combining these requests with the company’s routing algorithm, resulting in a flexible and environmentally friendly travel-sharing offering for passengers. This saves time for those who prefer safer and more direct travel to work than going through multiple transportation options.
RushOwl also has a corporate service for companies looking to create optimized and flexible employee travel plans. This service helps companies to provide additional benefits to employees, which helps them retain employees and increase productivity so that employees can get to work easily and on time.
In a recent public tender organized by Sentosa Development Corporation, RushOwl won a smart mobility contract worth more than $ 700,000 to facilitate the transportation of Sentosa employees. The local transport giant involved in the tender, ComfortDelgro, as well as the pioneer of smart home mobility, SWAT Mobility.
“We believe that our service will escalate exponentially in 2022 as more people explore how they can reduce their carbon footprint through daily commutes. By leveraging our technology and traction, our goal is to help cities deal with accessibility, road congestion and air pollution through shared mobility,” he said. Shin Ng, founder and CEO of RushOwl.
Going forward, RushOwl will further enhance the RushTrail app to provide a better user experience, partner with electric vehicles, and market new mobility products to add value to the company’s smart commuting ecosystem.
The company will strengthen its presence in the Singapore market and expand into massive markets such as Vietnam and India by 2022.
