Pennsylvania Sen. Pat Toomey, a member of the Senate Banking Committee, has suggested that Congress abide by the law if the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) cannot provide sufficient guidance on cryptocurrencies.
In a Friday announcement by the Toomey Senate Banking Committee he said Gary Gensler was upset with SEC President’s response to differences in securities and commodities in terms of token projects and stable currencies. The senator questioned some of the apparent differences in enforcement actions by the SEC between cryptocurrency firms and consulting firms, including Glass Lewis, for providing “fraud and misleading information.”
