Paine Ashes will lose all crickets on “leave” – Cricket Tasmania

Tim Paine will miss the Ashes series against England while there is “leave” from all cricket, Cricket Tasmania said on Friday as the wicketkeeper left the Australian captaincy and suffered a ‘sexting’ scandal.

Paine would not be available “for the foreseeable future,” the state association said in a brief note.

“Cricket Tasmania will continue to help Tim and his family both professionally and personally over the summer,” he said.

The Paine scandal will be a distraction during Ashes: Ponting

Nathan Lyon: I’d rather guide the band’s song than be the captain

There has been widespread speculation about Pain’s place in the Australian test team since he resigned four years ago when he was investigated for sexually explicitly sending text messages to a former Tasmanian Cricket employee.

Paine cleared the 2018 investigation, but said last Friday that he did not want it to be a distraction from preparations for the Australian Ashes.

Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting said this week that Paine’s selection of Ashes will still distract the team’s attention. Paine’s teammates said they hoped to stay on the sidelines.

The first test against England will start in Brisbane on December 8th.
