US punishes North Koreans for citing “ballistic missile” tests Nuclear Weapons News

The U.S. Treasury has fined North Korean nationals based in Russia and China after “firing six ballistic missiles since September.”

The U.S. Treasury Department imposed sanctions on five North Koreans on Wednesday, saying they were responsible for buying weapons for mass destruction weapons and ballistic missile-related programs in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).

North Korea has been banned from conducting ballistic missiles or nuclear tests under a number of UN Security Council resolutions.

Wednesday’s Treasury action freezes all U.S. goods on the blacklist, and generally prohibits Americans from doing business with them.
