All young Qasim Akram will lead Pakistan’s Under-19 ICC World Cup early next year in the West Indies.

“In addition to the opportunity to donate goods in these two events, we have identified and selected players with a bright future,” said Saleem Jaffer.

Pakistan has not been able to win the ICC U-19 World Cup in 2003 and 2005/06 since Bangladesh won its last event in South Africa in early 2020.

Jaffer said the youth selection committee had invited 21 high-performance cricketers born on or after Sept. 1, 2002, to a training session currently underway in Lahore.

In addition to the final 15 of the two events, it also has two touring reservations that will be part of the two-tournament tour.

The team brings together four players who took part in the previous U19 World Cup in South Africa in January-February 2020, the event that ended in third place for Pakistan.

Openers Qasim, Abdul Wahid Bangalzai and Mohammad Shehzad and batsman Irfan Khan Niazi were the four players who attended the event in South Africa.

Pakistan Shaheens and Ijaz Ahmed coaches under the age of 19 will lead the support staff at the World Cup and the Asian Cup.
