AFCON 2021: Burkina Faso has qualified with Cameroon

Burkina Faso secured a place in the last 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations behind the host and winning team Cameroon on Monday, and Cape Verde will have to wait to see if it remains in the top four.

Meanwhile, the Malawi players have been given an unusual incentive to anger Senegal in their final group match on Tuesday: a one-year supply of eggs to each teammate if Malawi wins and makes the playoffs for the first time.

Burkina Faso drew 1-1 with Ethiopia in the last Group A match at Bafoussam, and it was enough to hold on to the point. Cyrille Bayala put the Burkins ahead in the first half by sending a wolf over the goalkeeper. Getaneh Kebed equalized for Ethiopia on a penalty kick early in the second half.

The final phase of the team started on Monday and the 16 teams for the Cameroon qualifiers will be decided on Thursday.
