Several people are trapped at the World Trade Center in Hong Kong after a fire on Wednesday, according to various news outlets.
According to the Hong Kong Free Press, the fire continues and the alarm level has risen as firefighters try to rescue several people using emergency ladders.
The fire is believed to have started on the first floor of the building being renovated.
A video posted by Citizen News on social media featured more than a dozen people, including the elderly, trapped on the roof of the building’s fifth-floor roof.
Citizen News also reported that about 100 people were waiting to be rescued earlier.
In another video published by the South China Morning Post, firefighters rescued at least eight people as smoke rose from a ground floor.
Rescue efforts are still ongoing.
