SteelSeries Arctis Pro da the holy grail of gaming headphones. It makes you feel very comfortable in your head, even when you’re in a raid on a stranger’s blood neck 2. fate, and provides audio so clearly that it transforms any gaming experience by attracting direct action. Unfortunately, it costs $ 250. That’s why I was shocked when I took Arctis Prime’s hand. Paid for just $ 100, it has more expensive cousin design chops, and audio drivers that compete with luxury headphones.
Prime arrived in the northwestern Pacific Ocean as a result of an unprecedented and apocalyptic heat wave. As in Cascades West, I live in a cabin in the woods with a closet full of flannel and jeans, and a table full of triple IPA and craft coffee. We are not people prepared for triple-digit weather. Sweating, I put my headphones on the coffee table and watched as if I were a snake, coiled, poisonous, and ready to kill me. When it was so hot outside the idea of putting anything on his head felt like certain death.
But I did. For testing, I sacrificed myself. It turns out it wasn’t so bad, and that wasn’t the first surprise saved by Arctis Prime.
Comfortable, fresh and light
Ear cups are a small part of headphones and earphones. If the texture is weird, it spoils the atmosphere. If it’s too hot, I’m away. If wet and sweaty, mega pass. My favorites are from Apple AirPods Max. You know, that $ 550 aluminum and mesh sculpture. They are breathable but insulate stuffed animals, curls but sounds. Arctis Prime earrings are very different but surprisingly similar.
They are made of leather, a soft-touch synthetic leather with a foam interior, not fabric, but feel lightweight and plush. I used to sweat and sticky for a few hours before, even on a stifling day. That’s impressive. Typically, ears don’t go down first when companies try to make a cheaper version of their flagship headphones. But Prime feels it ia excellent as ultra luxurious as comfortable and lightweight. In fact, compared to Arctis Prime Arctis Pro, they are very similar. The quality of the build is incredible, and it doesn’t look like SteelSeries has cut any major corners.
The thing I don’t like about Arctis Prime’s ears is how easily they don’t come off. The headphones are removable, but they are very difficult to put back on. If you remove them, it feels like they are on the verge of being torn and that doesn’t spark trust. It’s a good idea to clean your ear cups from time to time, but they’re also part of the most depleted headphones over time. to replace them you can extend the life of the headset.
One of the most famous features of the SteelSeries headphones is the ski goggle headband. It is a long piece of elastic fabric, wrapped in a strong metal band and secured with velcro. It keeps the headphones in place and is easy to adjust, even if your head is big (or small). The Arctis Prime headband seems to come from a pair of much more expensive headphones. There is also a soft rubber cushion at the bottom of the band for extra padding.
