Tequila has come a long way in recent years. In a place where they were once beaten with a pinch of salt and lime, it has become a sophisticated drink or a high-end cocktail ingredient. The appeal of this Mexican spirit is such that celebrities like George Clooney, Justin Timberlake, Kendall Jenner and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson have created their own tequila brands, and with great success.
Tequilan-based drinks are fast becoming cocktail lovers. Based on the ubiquitous base of the iconic margarita paloma (traditionally tequila and grapefruit soda, but this drink works very well with Ting, or San Pellegrino’s blood orange offering), now tequila and tonic challenge the traditional G&T. Tequila varieties are also wonderful with Mexican food.
