Touch, like getting a hug, it releases oxytocin into the brain. This hormone contributes to our overall well-being and ability handle stress. This is one of the reasons for scaring newborns. But we don’t always have someone squeezing us, especially this year pandemic. That’s where a good weighted blanket comes in.

Weighted blankets use deep pressure to gently simulate the feeling of attachment. Pressure has been expressed as a way to help with insomnia and anxiety. The Hug Machine, for example, he invented Grandin Temple, uses pressure to calm the spectra of autism who don’t like the physical touch of others. (There isn’t much science-based research, but you should discuss using it with your doctor.) A weighted blanket doesn’t cure anything, but it makes you feel better.
