WIRED’s Resilience Residency was he announced earlier this year providing non-journalists with the opportunity to learn how technology and science are transforming their industries. More than 200 people responded to our call for proposals, representing 30 different states and dozens of areas.
Today we are pleased to present five residents for 2021. Over the next six months, they will be working with the WIRED editorial team to tell powerful stories with an inner vision and start new conversations about the future. Our goal is for everyone (residents, WIRED staff, and our audience) to benefit from the exchange of experiences, perspectives, and experiences.
Meet Neighbors
Melanie Canales he is a first-generation Peruvian American farmer and beekeeper, located in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, on the lands of Monaca and Mannahoac. His work focuses on creating healthy relationships between people and the surrounding ecosystems through soil regeneration and food sovereignty. As a neighbor, she is interested in stories about land care and how communities have begun to decolonize agriculture to make it more accessible and sustainable.
Jake Galdo, PharmD, MBA, BCPS, BCGP, is a community pharmacist with a track record in academia, health quality and technology. Its headquarters are focused on transforming community pharmacy practices and patient empowerment. Galdo is a former student at the University of Georgia and Samford University and lives in Alabama with his family.
Harris Quinn H. Goose is the founder of the men’s clothing brand. Her residence will be based on changes in the clothing industry and the evolution of the way she dresses. Prior to that, he founded a digital marketing startup and spent six years working as a cryptological linguist for the U.S. Army. He lives in Greenville, South Carolina.
Enrique Sanabria He is the Chief Engineer at New York and New Jersey Port Authority Airport. His curiosity about technology became a passion for aviation and he has spent much of his life at and around Metro-NYC airports, both as a fan and as a technical specialist. His residence will explore the airport of the future.
Suhita Shirodkar is a city illustrator, illustrator and educator in San Jose, California. She has received scholarships from the Knight Foundation and the Belle Foundation. Suhita will use an audio-visual report on how basic art communities use technology to adapt, innovate, and reinvent themselves.
