14 Relationships between mothers and daughters we love on screen

[ad_1]

When I watch movies about mother-daughter relationships, I can’t think of my mother. Ea Rory and Lorelai Gilmore Girls or Tammy and Julie Friday night lightsI always see my little one ama and myself reflected in them. In the phase of my life that would embarrass me in everything my mother did, I felt like Lindsay Lohan Freaky Friday. When I arrived and realized that my mother was my best friend, it was Sophie and Donna Mamma Mia! one.

I’ve always liked that screen relationships teach me a lot about myself, and the mother-daughter relationship is no exception.

Firefly Lane she taught me to appreciate my mother, and Stepmother showed me that mothers want the best for their daughters.

Not just on screen mother-daughter he taught me a lot, but it was fun to see my mom and me together. I appreciate spending this Mother’s Day with my mom at home, but even if your mom is apart or has a close relationship, the best mother-daughter relationships on the screen show us that there is no “right” way, and there will always be different dynamics and challenges along the way.

Read on below to see the best options for mother-daughter couples TV shows and movies.

The best relationships between mothers and daughters on television

Rory and Lorelai are kind of like the mother and daughter of best friends they all dream of. They have their flaws, for sure, but in the end they act like sisters. Rory did not have the most stable education, as Lorelai became pregnant at a young age and ran away from home, but they work while they are together.

Time jumps These are us it really allows the audience to relate to Rebecca and Kate, as we see them through many stages of their lives. Rebecca and Kate certainly have their ups and downs, but I think they are a beautiful and raw representation of the mother-daughter relationship.

I always found the relationship between Xo and Jane very fun. I love the combination of Xo’s free spirit and Jane’s two shoe styles. Xor’s mother, Alba, also plays a huge role in the lives of Xor and Jane, which gives the show a unique perspective on three generations.

Kate and Marah, Tully and Cloud, Firefly Lane

Firefly Lane it was one of my most anticipated adaptations of this year’s television books, and although the show deviates from the original plot, it’s worth watching. The adult Kate examines her intricate relationship with her teenage daughter (she bears a strong resemblance to me as a teenager), and Tully’s ongoing struggle with her drug-addicted mother. Realize that no matter what struggles you have with your mother or daughter, you are not alone, and there is always hope.

Small fires everywhere and where the mother-daughter relationship is intense, at least. However, the relationship between Mia and Pearl shows the unique bond that mothers and daughters have and shows how they are a group. On the other hand, Elena examines Izzy and Lexie’s relationship with the girls, sometimes how the daughters feel the need to hide from their mothers to avoid giving up on themselves. This show will really make you think, smile and inspire you to feel.

At first glance, however Friday night lights it’s a show about high school football. I love the dynamics of the Taylor family. Tami Taylor is the moral compass of the show, always fighting for equality in schools and for children who have no one else. Julie makes an interesting journey through the show and I think it shows how the daughters will find their own ways, as well as all the awesome advice mothers like Tami should give.

The best mother / daughter relationships in cinema

I saw this movie for the 100th time this week and I fell in love with Donna and Sophie again. They are really both against the world. Donna repeatedly cries over a scene that helps Sophie prepare for her wedding. There may or may not be extra tears this time around, as my sister is getting married in a week and I know my mother will feel like Donna: proud, bittersweet and full of love.

Marmee, Jo, Amy, Meg and Beth, Little women

This is a film about sisters, but it’s as much like a movie about mom and daughter. The four girls from March start living with their mother at the movie home (it would be my mother’s dream!). You will really see how girls are dependent on their mother and how they would not be without her. Marmee March is a truly sacrificed mother, she admits her mistakes and is occasionally angry, but she would do anything to make her daughter happy.

Oh, to be in your mother’s shoes for a day … I’m not sure my mother and I would manage each other’s lives, but Freaky Friday it’s a ridiculous illustration of what it might look like. Anna and Tess don’t see each other’s eyes, but when they end up in each other’s bodies, they finally realize that they’re not so different and learn to appreciate each other. This movie was a basic childhood for my sisters and me, but now I appreciate the mother / daughter dynamic even more than the dreamy Michael Murray Chad.

Lady Bird and Marion, Lady Bird

Lady Bird it’s mostly an adult story, but I think Lady Bird’s complex relationship with her mother takes the film to a whole new level. Although most conversations are passive-aggressive, they both love each other because they don’t know how to express themselves. The film is a fun, real, and moving film about an eclectic daughter, a mother who doesn’t understand her, and the relationships she’s working on.

It’s no secret that mother / daughter relationships change dramatically throughout life Conditions of love is a perfect example. Young Emma can’t wait to get married and run away from her controlling mother, but old Emma and new mom can’t be without a mother. In the 30 years that this film has been covered, Aurora and Emma know that when you can’t depend on anyone, you can be dependent on your mother or daughter.

Jackie, Isabel and Anna, Stepmother

In my opinion, Stepmother it is one of the best films for mothers / daughters, as it shows the length that mothers will do for their children. When she is diagnosed with a terminal illness, Jackie sets out to find out how her child will end up after her ex-husband’s new girlfriend dies. Not only is it a great film for moms and daughters, it’s also a testament to women who stand up for greater benefit.

Daphne is the mother of three girls, just like my mother, and she wants the best for all three, just like my mother. However, I hope my mother Daphne doesn’t get into my love life the way she would get into Milly. Daphne embarks on a mission to establish her youngest daughter with Mr. Right and eventually finds out that her daughters themselves are female. It’s a testament to growing up and releasing, I’m sure it’s hard for all mothers.

In my opinion, this title perfectly captures the mother / daughter relationship: it is as hard as steel and as delicate as a magnolia flower. This classic film follows M’lynn and her daughter Shelby through Shelby’s type 1 Diabetes diagnosis, marriage, and pregnancy. A story about love, loss, and the tough decisions mothers have to make. This will give the mother more hugs on Mother’s Day.
