The landslide has displaced houses in the city of Atami in Shizuoka prefecture.
According to NHK public media, at least 20 people are missing on Saturday after heavy rains hit the central city of Atami in Japan, causing landslides.
NHK quoted local officials as saying the landslide had wiped out city houses in Shizuoka prefecture.
The report said police and firefighters were looking for the missing as Shizuoka officials called on the national government for help in an emergency.
A video clip posted on social media showed the moment Atami stormed the water inside, destroying several homes along the way as her horror spectators ran into their lives.
In the video, a woman was also heard shouting “this is scary” a few seconds before the flash flood.
