Apple’s iCloud Photo Scanning Technique has been explained

Recently, Apple revealed this Messages, iCloud, Siri and some new search technical measures to protect children from online sexual abuse. Apple says the new mix of device-based and cloud-based processing will strike a balance between user security and privacy. But some cryptography experts are unconvinced, and are concerned that the measures could open doors for privacy violations and government surveillance.

This week at Gadget Lab, Andy Greenberg, the lead writer of WIRED cybersecurity, joined us to talk about the operation of Apple’s technology and the company’s delicate balance between security and privacy.
