Smart screen You may want the convenience of a smart assistant if you want to add something to look at. When you put it on Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa on a smart speaker with a tablet-sized screen, you’ll get a fun way to watch the weather or album art, watch TV shows, make video calls, and other useful things (for the most part). We’ve tested most of the major screens on the market and listed our favorites below.
Most options use Google Assistant instead of Amazon’s Alexa because it’s easier to set up devices that use Google’s services, and Google somehow provides an easier experience.
Make sure you see our many other shopping guides, including summaries of our favorites smart speakers, and specific manuals Google Assistant and Alexa speakers.
Updated June 2021: We’ve added a second-genre Echo Show 8 to our favorite Show lineup.
