We love the Jo of Cup community for eight million reasons, but one is the stories you share in the comments section. Here are nine reader comments on romance (we laughed, we cried!) …

They knew at the time

We stayed together for three months (a long distance) when Valentine’s Day arrived. I flew that weekend and told him if he did anything romantic, I would throw it away. She took it to heart and we had family lunch for Grandma’s 85th birthday, followed by a Valentine’s Day package at the Medieval Times. While we took champagne from the brand’s flutes and ate turkey legs and took pictures and laughed at the absurdity, I knew it was special. A few hours later at a bar to immerse ourselves with our friends, he was left with a snack of cheese and I said, ‘Take it, I love you more than cheese’. Then I knew – it was true. I love cheese, but I loved it more. ” – Lauren

“Even before I started talking I knew he loved me, he looked at me from the time I was about twenty years old and he loved me. Then one night at a friend’s party, I started talking about this “tone of mood” app I used on my phone. I was constantly on the lookout for how it was always accurate. He played and took my phone to try. When he did that, his mood ring read LOVE IN LOVE. He had never done such a thing before, so he found it sharp and ridiculous. What we felt was real was like a cosmic assertion. ” Joni

In sweet delights

“My girlfriend surprised me on my birthday with a WhatsApp photo of a cup of tea, entitled ‘I gave you a present.’ We don’t live together, and I suddenly realized that the photo was taken in my kitchen. Then she appeared in my bedroom, with tea, He told me that he put the cakes in the oven and borrowed my father’s car to drive me to work. ‘ Katie

Knowing what to do

“Actually, one of my favorite gestures from the last relationship was this: even though he was enthusiastic and just a dog, this man followed three different Instagram cats to send funny messages.” – Veronica

Facing hard times

“I had appendicitis and then I asked my boyfriend to wear some pajamas. He brought his beloved jammies and told me I could borrow them. (He’s been the same since he went to boarding school – they were the only winter couple and very precious and very comfortable from a thousand cleaning cycles.) That’s when I found out it was him. I borrowed it again two weeks ago when we went to the hospital to be our first child. ” – Alex

“Recently, my father’s weak heart became much weaker, and he landed in intensive care for 10 days. My siblings and I have been gifted him a tablet since he was bedridden in the hospital. One night, my father sent me a message around eleven o’clock at night to ask if I was still up. I called him and he said, ‘I love this tablet that I love – it was very thoughtful – but I can’t figure out how to watch Netflix and it drives me crazy.” I tried to surf the phone, but it’s certainly not the greatest tech expert and frustrated. My husband was lying next to me in bed, and he whispered in my ear, “Tell your father I’m on his way.” He threw on some clothes, went to the hospital, convinced security to enter my father’s room (even though visiting hours were over) and sat down with my father and he patiently showed her how to use the tablet, and he did not leave until my father went to bed at about 1:00 in the morning. Kaysie

“A few years ago, I found a completely new level of love. I had a depressive breakdown and was suicidal. My husband was horrible. He showered me. He picked me up and pushed me, “We may be sad somewhere else.” With me from the window I shouted “Oh, world, stop being a donkey”. He congratulated me from the bottom of my heart for the smallest victories he has achieved on the road to recovery: ‘Do you wash a teaspoon and take a shower? That’s impressive. ‘ He helped me financially and I took the stress out of recovering from his life. For four years, he completely prioritized me. The many days I struggled to see who I was helped me find the looks I had for many days. He was the guardian of my personality until I reconnected with him. This kind of love is very difficult to describe. For me it’s pure love. We are very strong now. I would step on a bullet completely. Somehow, he has it for me. ‘ – Jessica

About the love of friendship

At my mother’s funeral, she gave a talk that included the line “Friendship is Her Love Story” line of friendship, and I’ve thought about that line every day ever since. “I have a special friendship that has been passed down for generations, and our love for our mother and for each other. I am very grateful to have met my mother and given me this gift.” – Arielle

Getting together

“My husband and I lay in bed a couple of nights ago, we laughed and we laughed and I couldn’t tell what to say. They both seemed silly with matching mouthguards and nasty old pajamas, and the next day he wrote to me, ‘Last night with you I keep thinking about laughing. “Ro.Mance.” – Lauren
