Apple’s WWDC 2021 will begin on Monday. Here’s what to expect

As always, the new software we see on Monday won’t be released to the general public until this year, though enthusiastic software developers and beta testers can expect to get in sooner.
MacOS
The latest version of MacOS will be number 12. Its name is still a mystery, though it’s likely that Apple will agree with its current naming agreement, which will take its name from some of California’s stunning locations. By all accounts, this year will be an “improvement” year for MacOS, not a major overhaul of the desktop operating system.
Still, there are two key elements of the modern MacOS update to keep an eye on. The first is the compatibility or compatibility between iPadOS and macOS. In MacOS Catalina, Apple launched Mac Catalyst, which was an easy way for app makers to bring their mobile apps to the Mac desktop. In recent years, Apple has developed a number of mobile applications that are compatible with the Mac – podcasts, news, shares. Of course, the iPad and Mac are still different physical devices because of the touch screen (or because it’s not on Macs). But now that Apple’s M1 chip is turning on new Macs and new iPads, the hardware between the two is shutting down.
And then there’s M1 – that’s another keyword or phrase to listen to. This year’s MacOS update may not be a complete overhaul, but you can bet that Apple wants to show how app makers can continue to optimize their apps for this custom silicon, especially some applications still require an emulator M1 to work properly on a Mac.
There have also been rumors about the new Mac laptops could be announced next week at WWDC, a software-focused event that would become a real plot. If these were to be announced, they would probably be better MacBook Pro models, even machines that reassure serious multimedia professionals looking for more power.
“I think Apple needs to get back to its roots with the MacBook Pros,” says Anshel Sage, chief analyst at Moor Insights & Strategy. “There are rumors about the touch bar, and there is still room for improvement in the security of the MacBook. But I think they can make their way to the iPad and build the ‘X’ version of the M1 chip or the M2 chip on the MacBook Pro and become a worse model.”
Personally, I’d be surprised if Apple announces new machines as soon as the release is released M1 MacBook Laptops, Arrived in November 2020. But if the rumors are correct, it shows the seriousness of Apple with its custom silicon – and how fast these new chips are developing in parallel with current versions.
WatchOS
Here’s the first noteworthy thing about Apple’s wristwatch computers: in some respects, the Apple Watch is the world’s best-selling watch. Not only that among smart watches, that is also true, however all clocks. Here’s a second noteworthy thing, which isn’t necessarily good: there’s a lot of competition for smart watches. Huawei is Apple’s closest competitor in the smartwatch market, but the Chinese device maker has been hampered by U.S. software sanctions. Samsung’s market share has shrunk slightly over the past year. This year Google is expected to launch a Pixel watch and buying Fitbit may be helpful boost Google’s clothing offeringsbut we are still waiting to realize these two possibilities.
So like many of these software updates, a small change is revealed, a new location for a complication or a beta version of a health app, and you think …Pffft, great thing! Basically when you own millions of wristbands, even small software updates can have a big impact.
