The former president proposed the monument last year to honor dozens of American historical figures.

On Friday, President Joe Biden put the kibosh on the “National Garden of American Heroes” planned earlier and revoked former President Donald Trump’s orders aimed at moderating social media companies ’policies and marking American foreign aid.

In one of Biden’s executive orders, Biden suspended the Trump-created working group to create a new monument, which the former president proposed last year. Trump represented “a vast outdoor park that will house the largest American states that ever lived,” Trump’s sculptures of dozens of historical figures that included “presidents, athletes, and pop culture icons”.

Trump himself led the list of 30 more, including Davy Crockett, Billy Graham, Whitney Houston, Harriet Tubman and Antonin Scalia, among others, but no site was selected and the garden was never funded by Congress.

Trump has repeatedly condemned protesters in protest of the desecration and overthrow of historic states in racial injustice and police brutality after his death George Floyd last year in Minneapolis.

Other executive actions by Trump were overturned

Biden’s order also overturned Trump’s May 2020 order from the Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission to investigate social media companies for labeling or removing entire messages or accounts that Trump claimed were a restriction on freedom of expression. That order came before Trump himself was removed from platforms like Twitter and Facebook after the January 6 Capitol Uprising.

The president ended Trump’s December 2020 order to mark all U.S. foreign aid with “a single logo that embodies the values ​​and generosity of the American people”.

Trump’s June 2020 order was also overturned because it required the federal government to “prosecute to the extent permitted by federal law” for state-owned federal property to commit acts of vandalism and destruction. This order was in response to the defection of states (especially those honoring the Confederacy) that were in police custody when George Floyd was killed in national protests against racial injustice.

Biden also got Trump’s claim, requiring immigrants to prove that some health insurance plans would allow them to enter the U.S. within 30 days or be able to cover medical costs.

“My Administration is committed to expanding access to quality and affordable health care,” Biden said in denying that claim. “We can achieve this goal, however, without being banned from entering a restrictive list of classification plans that want to emigrate legally to this country but do not have significant financial resources or have not purchased health insurance coverage.”
