Coco Gauff to miss Tokyo Olympics because tennis star gives COVID-19 a positive

American tennis star Coco Gauff will not be competing in the Tokyo Olympics. The 17-year-old announced on Sunday that he had tested positive for COVID-19 and will not be competing in the Olympics this summer.
“I am very disappointed to share the news, I have been positive for COVID and I will not be able to play in the Tokyo Olympics,” Gauff wrote on Twitter. “It has always been my dream to represent the US at the Olympics, and I hope there will be many more opportunities to make that a reality in the future. I wish TEAM USA the best of luck and safe games. For every Olympian and for the entire Olympic family.”
Gauff shocked the tennis world in 2019 when Venus Williams got angry when she was a 15-year-old at Wimbledon. He reached the quarterfinals of the French Open earlier this year.
COVID-19 is famous around the Tokyo Olympics, and will begin there this week after being delayed for a year. The first confirmed case of COVID-19 was found in the Olympic Village on the weekend.
