Devin Haney Vs. Jorge Linares: Fight against the odds, low ticket, odds, start time, how to watch, live broadcast
[ad_1]
Those who have asked WBC lightweight champion Devin Haney to step up their competition level will receive a wish on Saturday against veteran three-time champion Jorge Linares. The fight takes place at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas (20.00 ET, DAZN).
Haney is one of the harvests of fresh young stars in the lightweight division, although he is struggling to be named “champion by email” by others in the sport, including Teofimo Lopez, a man with all the other major titles in the division. That’s why Haney didn’t really “win” the title when Vasiliy Lomachenko’s hourly title went from being a provisional champion to a “world” champion to a “franchise champion” of the sanctioning body. As Lomachenko was an active champion, the provisional title did not have to exist, the WBC water muddy even more.
With all of this in mind, it’s clear that Haney is a top player in the division and could be a real force in the sport for years to come.

However, Haney has not fought elite competition yet, and the 22-year-old has suffered a second layer of criticism. The struggle with Linares is a step towards directing criticism.
Linares has won the world championship in featherweight, super featherweight and lightweight, sometimes playing as one of the best boxers in the world. Linares, however, has been small throughout his career, with five career losses coming as a result of the playoffs. Despite some responsibilities against the coup, Linares has completed a solid career and has also struggled against Lomachenko, reaching the knockout stages before stopping on the 10th day.
According to Linares, experience will be one of the deciding factors. And the advantage of the experience is greatly distorted in favor of Linares, who has registered 320 as a professional round with only 138 for Haney.
Since Linares has the ability to use a variety of styles, Haney will need to be in his 12 rounds in his game. That means not giving a performance like his last win, a decision on the Yuriorkis Chamber.
Haney never had a problem against Gamboa, winning a clear decision, but he also tried to cost the visible from the starting bell before he vowed to dominate Gamboa before the fight. Even as he walked along the coast, Haney disappeared a bit in the final rounds, and raised some questions about how Haney would act against someone who exerts consistent pressure, something Linares seems to know.
“I don’t know what kind he wants to do, what style he wants to do,” Linares told DAZN. “I watched a lot of his videos and it doesn’t change too much. I hope he wants to change something for this fight because he comes to fight with me, in a close fight, I can kill him very quickly, [meaning I can] beat easier.
“… I have to see in the first round what he wants to do. I’m ready for two or three different styles: I can use my natural boxing, speed and calm, but I have to be aggressive with his intention, because I saw him fight Gamboa, and Gamboa was aggressive “.

Forecast
Linares is a lively dog, mostly +600 years old, but he has probably surpassed his past and his ability to compete with an elite boxer like Haney. At best, Linares can mix it up with big showers and sharp boxing – even if his chin, as mentioned earlier, is always a responsibility. Haney has only one way to go and has enough power to get to the playoffs if he decides to press for it. Linares is dangerous enough to fight as Haney did against Gambo. This will be a tough night for Haney, but he should be able to survive after missing a few rounds to make a surprisingly competitive decision. Selection: Devin Haney via UD
