Thorgan Hazard’s strike will go on to become the Belgian champions and advance to the quarter-finals where they will take on Italy.

The Portuguese champions were knocked out of Euro 2020 on Sunday to win 1-0 against Belgium, and will face Italy in their quarter-final match.

Belgium had a blow three minutes after the break when De Bruyne was injured and Santos tried to breathe a sigh of relief by attacking Bruno Fernandes and Joao Felix from the bench.

Ronaldo, starting from the right, did well to find Jota in the box, but again the striker’s effort was not a goal, as Belgium were struggling to hold on to their opponents.

Attempts against Belgium became increasingly scarce and Portugal turned up the heat in the last 10 minutes as they desperately looked for a draw.

Courtois fired a huge header from Ruben Dias from a corner and then Raphael Guerrero hit the post with his first sweet shot from the edge of the area.

Deep in overtime, Portugal created one last chance, but Felix’s drive extended to Courtois ’right post.

Belgium will face Italy They beat Austria 2-1 on Saturday, Munich, 2 July. The Italians have not lost in the last 31 games.
