Floyd Mayweather would “completely” restart Conor McGregor in boxing: “It’s easy”

Floyd Mayweather would like to make it clear that he is retired from professional boxing, but not from being an entertainer. That’s the approach his exhibition is taking to the fight Sunday with Logan Paul with Youtube star, and is the direction he’s heading for the next few years of his life, including a potential rematch of UFC superstar Conor McGregor.

Mayweather stopped McGregor in the 10th round of the August 2017 fight, the last time in Mayweather’s career, and his career mark rose to 50-0 in the win. McGregor was competitive, even though Mayweather was clearly in control before the stop. The men were seen exchanging horrific insults after a long media career before the fight, especially on the McGregor side, where the fighters began to form in the ring after the fight, shared a hug and apparently buried the ax.

Leonard Ellerbe, CEO of Mayweather Promotions, told Brian Campbell of Showtime Sports and Luke Thomas at a Mayweather vs. Paul media day event that McGregor may recently rekindle the trash discussion again, leading to a rematch.

“He’s talking a lot of mess,” Ellerbe said. “Listen, what I’m telling Cono is that if you hear that, you can get that too. Definitely. That’s because it’s very personal. After all, I think they left the ring and hugged it, and whatever, but things are a little different now.”

At the ceremony, Campbell and Thomas also asked Mayweather about the possibility of a restart.

“Absolutely,” Mayweather said. “It’s easy.”

Mayweather broke his current lifestyle, saying “boxing was mashed potatoes. I guess now these guys are the sauce. It’s fun.”

This means that the fight against the stars of the exhibition on social media and the deviation from the UFC stars, which he hopes will prevail but which still earns a lot of money.

“Even if I make $ 50 million, that’s not a bad thing for a guy who’s retired,” Mayweather said.

Many hope Mayweather will continue his fight with Logan Paul with Logan’s younger brother, Jake Paul, who many believe is Paul’s best boxer in the family. “Everything is possible,” Ellerb said. “We haven’t had a discussion about Jake Paul. I’m honest. We haven’t had a discussion about him.”
