Google Nest Hub (2nd generation) review: Sweet Dreams

[ad_1]

In the past year, I am very confident Google’s Nest Hub Max in the kitchen. This 10-inch smart screen helped me remember important ingredients during cooking, and entertained me with music while I waited for the water to boil. I enjoyed it so much with it that when Google introduced the new version of the 7-inch Nest Hub, I was thrilled to see that bringing it to my bedroom could also refresh sleep.

Sleep detection is the hottest new feature on Google’s smallest smart screen. As the name suggests, it can track your sleep — without the need for a camera — and offer suggestions for improving sleep quality. I love my pull weighted blanket above me and calming the night, but sleeping is not always easy. I turn around and turn around, my allergies make my nose breathe normally and my head reminds me of the awkward memory of years past.

After more than a month at the night table with the second-generation Nest Hub, I can’t say I’ve slept better, but yes has It clarified some sleep habits I didn’t know existed.

The new Nest Hub can do everything the previous one could. Play movies and music, walk through recipes, among other things. ride your bike in your photos, control your smart home devices and answer all Google Search queries. There’s not much new in this section, except that Google usually has several updates associated with Google expands in a year.

Visually, you will hardly notice the difference. It has some new colors, such as “fog,” pale blue, and Google says it’s made from 54 percent recycled plastic. If you’ve tried other Google smart screens, you know exactly what you’re getting here.

The first Nest Hub, initially called Google Home Hub, he had no camera, and no new ones; I like that. I’ve never used the video chat feature on my Nest Hub Max, but it can be useful if you’re already using Duo, Google’s default video chat app on Android phones. Considering that this Nest Hub is designed for a bedroom home, it is one of the most private places in the house, I’m glad the camera didn’t look like it.

Instead of two areas there are three microphones in the remote area, and I had no problem receiving my orders. The speaker has improved a bit and is pretty good for something sitting at the nightstand! But it won’t be my first chance to DJ at a party.

The 7-inch screen itself is no different, and unfortunately, the performance hasn’t improved so much on the first-generation model either. It takes a second or two after you touch the screen to start actions. It’s also a problem with the larger Nest Hub Max. They are all a bit helpful. It’s still as dense as ever. Most bedside tables should easily fit in with space for other items like the phone and a glass of water.
