Unidentified people attacked President Moses ’private residence overnight and shot him dead, the interim prime minister says.
Haitian President Jovenel Moise has been assassinated in his home, interim Prime Minister Claude Joseph has announced. The first lady was hospitalized.
A group of unidentified people attacked a private neighbor in Moses overnight and shot him dead, Jose said.
Moise was ruling Haiti, America’s poorest country, by decree after lawsuits delayed the 2018 legislative elections and ended his term.
Joseph said he was now in charge of the country.
