Designing the house of your dreams is a never-ending project. When you think you have finally added it final touches, a fresh trend or it attracts you to a somewhat empty wall space and begins a new mission. And that’s fun! But there are also moments when a room feels unfinished, but you can’t put your finger on exactly why. Whether it’s a stamp-sized rug or a work of art that hangs too high, the only element that can be made or broken is when creating a space like a house.
In times of design-related crisis we take refuge in magazine shelters, a movement that often creates a great deal of inspiration. One of our favorites, Southern Living, offers some curious thoughts the unfinished room dilemma.
“The finishing touches are what unite the room and give it the look of a deliberately designed personal space,” said Stephanie Purzycki, one of the creators of the designers Finish, he explains Southern Life. “A lot of people come in to decorate a space and come up with something really beautiful, but they’re not sure how to complete it.”

Appropriate size rug
Scale is essential for any well-planned design, but in cases where it can be the largest size: choosing a rug. It’s too big and the floor seems to be drowning. It’s too small, and maybe not there at all. Fortunately, there is a general rule for fitting your rug well.
“For example, if it’s in a living room, at least the front legs of all the furniture should be placed on the rug, if not the entire furniture,” says Purzycki. Southern Life. “If it’s a dining room, all the legs of the chair should be kept on the rug, even when the chairs come off the table.”
