UEFA reduced the penalty for Hungary for their offensive behavior during the European Championship on Wednesday. The two-match stadium closure in June was halved to a home game without a fan.

Hungary was on probation for another two years, with the threat of further closure of the stadium, and UEFA also upheld a fine of 100,000 euros ($ 113,000). UEFA’s delayed penalty did not apply to the World Cup qualifiers in September and October, as they are officially FIFA matches.
After Hungarian fans racially abused England’s Blacks players at the Puskas Arena in September, FIFA banned fans from playing for Albania in Budapest the following month.
FIFA also imposed a fine of CHF 200,000 ($ 215,000) on the Hungarian football federation, which is headed by FIFA and UEFA vice-president Sandor Csanyi.
