The Israeli military has carried out another attack on the Gaza Strip besieged Hamas positions overnight after it was said to have fired balloons from the Palestinian enclave.

There was no immediate indication that the Gaza-based group was responsible for the balloon launch, but Israel is responsible for any action by Hamas (the group that governs Gaza).
“The strikes were carried out in response to fireballs fired into Israeli territory,” the Israeli army said in a statement.
On Thursday, four small fires caused by flaming balloons from Gaza were extinguished in the Eshkol region, fire services reported.
Israel took revenge early on Friday with airstrikes, and the military said it hit Hamas as a “weapons manufacturing site.”
The latest attack has already destroyed the enclave since the Israeli army began its 11-day bombing campaign, killing at least 260 Palestinians, including 66 children.
In Israel, 13 people were killed as a result of rockets fired from Gaza, including two children, police and the army said.
Saturday night’s attack was the fourth time Israel has carried out airstrikes on Gaza since the May offensive, which ended on May 21 with a “ceasefire” led by Egypt.
Israel, which eased restrictions last month to allow proper aid to the Palestinian enclave, has maintained a 14-year land, air and sea blockade.
The UN has declared Gaza an “open-air prison” amid situations that have exacerbated people living in extreme poverty since the coronavirus pandemic.
