Analysts say the U.S. has room for nuclear diplomacy with Iran, ahead of economic agreements with Arab states and a visit to the White House by Bennett.
The new Israeli government, led by Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, offers an opportunity to ease political tensions between Israel and the United States as President Joe Biden seeks to return to Iran’s nuclear deal, analysts said.
“Biden has been lucky,” said Aaron David Miller, a senior fellow at Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in Washington, DC.
“Biden has bought himself space and time. Bennett is not looking for a fight, ”Miller told Al Jazeera.
It is unlikely that he will make much progress in the Israeli-Palestinian movement conflict, a change of government could help establish limited agreements with Hamas and the Palestinian Authority and at the same time allow economic agreements with Arab states to be extended, which would be a profit for the challenging Biden administration elsewhere, analysts told Al Jazeera.

“There was a conflicting relationship between the Obama-Biden administration and the Biden-Harris administration with Bibi Netanyahu,” El-Tayyab said.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken has said he has spoken to Yair Lapid to be the next prime minister in Bennett’s coalition and in line with what will become Israel’s foreign minister.

Netanyahu diplomatically questioned the extension of former President Barack Obama to Iran and voted against the 2015 international nuclear deal with Iran.
