Jake Paul vs. Ben Ask’s Fight: The three biggest stories to follow in a cruiserweight boxing match
[ad_1]
Boxing is back in Atlanta on Saturday night Triller Fight Club presents its latest PPV card. At a ceremony to be held at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Youtube star Jake Paul will be seen during the eight rounds he faces with former MMA champion Ben Askren.
The event is appealing to people other than the standard boxing card, but Paul has proven that it’s nothing if it’s a big draw. The influencer on Youtube has led to a lot of controversy during his time as a Disney Channel star, and during his short career as a boxer, Conor McGregor has tried to call the big names UFC megastar and Dana White UFC president. Instead of McGregor, Paul will face Askren, who retired from the UFC in 2019.
It’s a strange fight, but one that will spark a lot of interest. With things like that, let’s look at three of the stories we saw when Paul and Askren were thrown into Atlantis.
What else does Jake Paul have to do?
“When will Paul fight? real fighter? “Anyone who has followed the Paul boxing saga has said or thought. The reality is that due to many mistakes, Paul seemed to take his boxing training seriously, since he decided he would really try to be a professional. But the path he has taken has been serious. he has beaten them. NBA player – and win badly. Now Paul will play in the ring against the former UFC fighter who retired after some bad losses and hip problems. Paul is arguably a big, strong kid, and young enough that the idea of making waves as a boxer may not be as crazy as it may seem at first.
But to expect to follow a standard boxing path is not reasonable. Paul deserves a lot of money every time he enters the ring for these “personalities” fights. There are no sales per sale in the third professional fight that most boxers Paul struggles with. No one pays for the 150 vs. Paul-directed. American cruiserweight card with a 1-4 record. Paul knows this, as does everyone involved in his management. So why not fight the world against Nate Robinsons and Ben Askrens, earning time and making money? It’s the only business that makes sense, even if it’s annoying to traditionalists.

Make no mistake, Ben Askren is not a striker
If you don’t know Askren’s fighting career, you might think that his mixed martial arts become a threat as a precedent. That is not the case. Sure, Askren knows how to throw punches and has been training to strike for years, but going on strike has never been easy for him. In the last UFC fight, Askren found only mixed success at the stand against Demian Maia, a fighter known for his jiu-jitsu skills but not a prolific striker due to his imagination. Askren has published training footage of him struggling with Paul, a troll who has worked hard or is reminiscent of the fact that he is not really a fighter who has developed threatening skills with his hands.
A place where you shouldn’t sell short shorts is experience and perseverance. Askren has struggled a lot in his career and is not the man to be overwhelmed by the moment or the hope of fighting. For all of Nate Robinson’s athletics, he wasn’t ready fight. That won’t be the case with Ask, and he has fewer heartfelt questions than Paul. Askren’s path to victory is ugly and he will probably have to survive by eating big shots before Paul squeezes and tries to get a bigger man to try to get dressed before he gets rough. There is no doubt about winning Askren, but it is very difficult to win based on pure striking faith that is not very good.
The rest of the card is as weird as the main event
In addition to numerous musical performances from Justin Bieber to Snoop Dogg, the pay-per-view approach is replete with more quirky fights and personalities:
- Former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir will fight two-time world heavyweight champion Steve Cunningham. Mir would face Antonio Tarver, but they had to get Tarver out of the fight because they were Georgia statutes and a fighter over the age of 50 had to compete at least 10 times in the 10 years they applied for a license.
- Reyga reggaeton artist Joe Fournier will fight former professional boxer who has become a nightclub mogul on the ticket below, in a fight in a bar.
- In the main event, Regis Prograis will fight Ivan Redkach in a low-weight junior welterweight bout. It’s a legitimate fight, pitting former WBA junior welterweight champion Prograis against competitor Redkach. Who buys this event for legitimate boxing? Redkach is in a moment of frustration fighting to bite Danny Garcia before losing the unanimous decision.
