TOKYO (Reuters) – Japan is looking to increase its gross domestic product (GDP) to 3.0% or more in 2022, after considering the impact of a record budget of $ 317 billion, the Yomiuri newspaper reported.

The forecast would be an improvement on the forecast of 2.2% real GDP growth for the year beginning in April 2022, published in a mid-year review in July.

The Cabinet was due to approve a new budget on Monday after parliament approved an additional budget of 36 trillion yen ($ 316,730 billion) for the current fiscal year next Thursday, Yomiuri said.
