Washington has become the latest state to offer a creative way to promote COVID vaccines in the US.

With the rhythm of COVID jabs slowing down Across the United States, Washington state has announced an incentive for those who have not been vaccinated to shoot: free cannabis.

The State Liquor and Cannabis Commission (LCB) said on Monday that it would allow temporary retailers to participate in the “Joints for Jabs” promotion so that adults who receive a shot at a vaccine clinic at the store can receive an additional joint.

The agreement, which runs until July 12, only allows for the provision of pre-listed joints, including items such as edibles.

The LCB allowance continues the expired effort now that it allowed a free alcoholic beverage after the owner last month.

The creative effort by the state of Washington to promote vaccines there and the pace of U.S. vaccines has slowed, creating a number of interesting promotions.

Several states, including Washington, Maryland and Ohio, held lotteries to encourage their neighbors to take the blows. In fact, Washington will announce the first $ 250,000 lottery winner on Tuesday night.

Other promotions include scholarships for New York State and Ohio full-time tours.

The distribution of Washington state hemp is not the first in the U.S. An Arizona pharmacy created a “Snax for Vaxx” promotion last month that included a pre-coated joint and a distribution of edible rubber to those who received a free COVID shot.

Currently, 51.1% of Washington residents have received at least one dose of vaccine, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). That’s compared to 51.6% of the total U.S. population that has received at least one dose, far less than President Joe Biden’s goal of having 70 percent with a jab by July 4th.

According to the CDC, the average number of vaccines given at the state level has dropped from an average of 3.3 million owners in mid-April last week to less than one million.

Biden encouraged Americans to shoot last week announces new initiatives include a long schedule at vaccination sites, providing childcare services for parents, and free Uber and Lyft rides to and from appointments.

“It’s easier than ever to get vaccinated,” Biden said last week when he announced a new government partnership to reach mixed-race communities with barbecues and hairdressers.

“Local barber shops, stylists – become the main advocates of vaccines in their communities, providing information to clients, booking appointments for them, as well as using their businesses as vaccination sites,” Biden said.
