Declan Kelly has resigned as Teneo, as president and CEO of the global strategy company, a few days after he denounced his drunken behavior at a fundraising concert.

The company said in a statement Tuesday that Kelly will replace Paul Keary, one of the founders and chief operating officer, who is “immediately effective.”

“We would like to thank the Declane for its leadership and dedication to turning Teneo into a consulting firm for the world’s top executives over the past ten years.”

Kelly had already been removed from Global Citizen, the campaign group that offered the concert.

A Kelly spokesman told the Financial Times last week that the executive had “reduced temporary work responsibilities”, was “committed to simplicity” and was “constantly advising health professionals”.
