California will hold on to the latest revamp of the top U.S. public health agency to allow full-fledged people to wear face masks.

The approval of the new guidelines announced by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention last week will be delayed until June 15, state health director Mark Ghaly said in a call with reporters Monday.

This will allow companies to make the necessary adjustments and allow more people to be vaccinated, Governor Gavin Newsom said, coinciding with a date aimed at removing almost all of the state’s coronary antivirus restrictions.

The CDC said on May 13 that it was safe for fully embedded people refuse masks in almost every internal and external setting, governors have taken different views on orientation.

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy said Monday that a mask order for outdoor public spaces (when physical distance is not possible) will be removed immediately. Conditions to cover faces in indoor public spaces will remain in effect, but Murphy said it is likely to be suspended “in the not-so-distant future.”

New York residents will approve the new CDC mask from May 19, as Governor Andrew Cuomo announced earlier today that businesses and private premises would also be allowed to make their own rules. That coincides with the date of the cancellation of most coronavirus restrictions in the three states (Connecticut, New Jersey and New York), but Cuomo previously acknowledged that states would not have the same policy “because we are in a slightly different situation.” .

Pennsylvania said last Friday it would also allow businesses to ask people who are fully vaccinated to cover their faces, but non-vaccinated residents will have to comply with a statewide mask order, which will rise to 70 percent in Pennsylvania. adults are fully embedded.

Other states moved quickly to adopt the CDC guidance. Colorado dropped mask orders across the state last week, in line with those like Texas, which in March revoked the condition to cover its face.

Colorado has had an average of 22 new Covid-19 cases per day per 100,000 people on average last week, the highest rate among U.S. states, according to CDC data. California, which officials will wait for before closing mask orders, has dropped its average of seven per capita per day to just under four, the third-lowest rate in the country.
