It is now expected to be one of the biggest fights of the year. Errol Spence was scheduled to defend his weightlifting doubles title against legendary Manny Pacquiao on August 21 at the main event of a FOX PPV, but the Texan had a torn retina in training and had to leave the fight. He will be replaced by Yordenis Ugas, the WBA weightlifting champion, who was promoted to “super” champion after Pacquiao was named “champion at the break”.

Pacquiao hasn’t fought since he won against Keith Thurman in July 2019, where he won the WBA crown with an amazing performance. After winning at least eight weightlifting championships, he is considered the greatest of all time in the sport.

Ugas has lost more than once in 12 professional fights in 2015. The lone mistake came in the March 2019 bid to win the WBC title, where he split the decision for Keith Thurman. From there he returned to Omar Figueroa Jr., Mike Dallas Jr. and beat Abel Ramos.
