An expert medical team says the medical team for the football legend acted “in an inappropriate, deficient and reckless manner”.

“The action of the health team in charge of treating DAM (Diego Armando Maradona) has been inappropriate, lacking and reckless,” the April 30 medical committee report and a source close to the investigation shared with Reuters news agency.

“It presented unequivocal signs of a long period of agonization, so we concluded that the patient was not adequately monitored from 11:30 a.m. on 11/25/2020,” the report added.

Maradona underwent surgery on November 3 at the club where he coached, Gimnasia y Esgrima, when he turned 60 years old.

However, he appeared to be in poor health at the time, and had trouble speaking. Maradona fought cocaine and alcohol addictions throughout his life. He had liver, kidney and cardiovascular diseases when he died.

Two high-profile footballers have accused Luque of deteriorating Marcona’s health. The jury concluded that Maradona “would have a better chance of surviving” with proper treatment in a proper medical facility.

He died in his bed in a rented house in an exclusive suburb of Buenos Aires that he was caring for at home. Experts said Maradona did not have “full use of his mental powers” and should not be left to decide where to treat him.

They also found that the treatment had “deficiencies and irregularities” and that the medical team had left its survival “in the hands of fate”.
