How did you get into first beauty?
When I was growing up, whether it was clothes or makeup, I was amazed at anything. StageLight Cosmetics I came out when I was in seventh grade, and the coolest thing you could do was have pots of dust in their eye shadow. It was VERY BRIGHT. I didn’t know what I was doing; I would put it on my entire eyelid and thought it looked great.

What other makeup did you like when you were a teenager?
was strictly for my generation. It is still the basis of Clinique to this day. It is one of those chameleon products that looks great in different skin tones. But my relationship with makeup has changed as I get older.

Nolatan?
Well, first of all, as I get older, I find that wearing a lot of makeup makes me look older. Secondly, as much as I like makeup, I’ve never been skilled in the app. When I worked in television, I felt lucky to be a professional for myself. But at the moment, I don’t feel the need for that artifice so much. I always like to try new things, but I usually go back to the basics.

What are your basics when it comes to makeup?
The only things I notice today are the lips and eyebrows. I use Black from the glossier, and I also use a gray-brown pencil on my forehead . It’s a miracle pencil, I don’t understand.

Do you cup yourself? Because it’s a wonderful shape.
I don’t tweeze them at all! In fact, they died in the 90s. When I was working I met makeup artist Kevyn Aucoin Modan, and she said, ‘Girl, I need to get you in a chair and put you on those eyebrows.’ I said, ‘I don’t want to live with tweezers next to my toothbrush’. But of course he finished the tweezers and of course put them very thin. They grew a little but not much, and I tried to keep them in shape. Now they continue to do so. That’s another advantage of aging: you have less hair!

Are you still having fun exploring and finding new products?
Yes, makeup is still fun, and I have to be great. I recently walked down the makeup corridor at CVS and found some awesome stuff. I got one Maybelline lipstick called Red Revival, and I am obsessed with it. It’s a classic red satin.

Do you always blush?
No, I often wear another one , which is a great daily pink.

Another pharmacy makeup you love?
I don’t wear a mask often because I wear glasses and tend to wear masks on my lenses. But on that CVS trip I took a tube right there Covergirl Total Tease, which remains stationary. It gets darker and thicker, but not too much, so it looks very natural. It is also waterproof. I am in perimenopausal disorder and my makeup melts in my face when I am hot. So I never put anything on my face that could throw me down.

OK. Let’s talk about skin care.
I have always cared for my skin because I got psoriasis as a child. So I was constantly putting on creams to help my skin heal. I’ve been trying to hydrate and care for my skin all my life, just because I needed to.

How is your morning routine?
I wiped my face , very smooth. I’ll put it later Sunday Riley’s tidal water cream, is an excellent moisturizer but not heavy at all. I end with one Supergoop sunscreen. I love that I’m going to sweat under it because it’s the only sunscreen that doesn’t make me feel.

And how about the night?
Since the pandemic happened, baths have been my new thing. I had never taken it before, maybe if I was in an elegant hotel or something. Now, I take it at least three times a week. The whole routine of taking care of myself is to reduce the discomfort in my body; I didn’t do any physical exercise last year, and now I’m training for strength again. On days when I know I’m going to be mentally and physically worn out, I always plan to end up with a bath. I use ours Lavender Bath Salts tik The situation, and when I come out I hide myself CBD Body Oil, to achieve muscle fatigue.

You’ve been using these products for a while, right?
Yes, I have been dealing with perimenopausal symptoms for some time and it changed the way I thought about my body. No one ever talks about it! I have had symptoms for years before I knew it was perimenopause. Insomnia, mood swings, drier skin, dry vagina! But I thought I was crazy. When I finally found out more about it, I felt like a superhero – I still had these symptoms, but I was armed with information and I could really start managing it.

Do You Have A Favorite Product Of State?
Yes Face Oil it’s my favorite. All products are designed to completely absorb the skin so you don’t feel sticky. The face oil sinks immediately and makes my skin feel very nice, sweet and moist. If I have heat, it’s not like oil all over my face.

So I have to ask about the famous line. Do people bring that up all the time?
All the time. People used to tell me to dye my hair because it gave me an old one, but I’ve had it since I was 11 years old! I’ve never felt uncomfortable. I think it puts me in a category like Cruella de Vil or the X-Men group Rogue. That’s pretty iconic! Actually, there are easy ways to hide it – I can split my hair in a certain way and it wouldn’t show up. But I would never do that. It’s part of me. By the way, it’s not this little gray line like I already have. I’m going all gray.

Has it been an adaptation?
Yes, but I try to train myself to look at these changes with astonishment and fascination, rather than with anxiety. Because the whole world tells us that aging is bad, and I don’t buy it. It’s a scary change, and yes, it’s weird to look in the mirror and say, ‘That’s not me. That’s not when I was 38 years old. ‘ But I want to welcome these changes. So when I notice more gray hair, I’ll tell you the little things in the mirror, “I can’t wait to see you more.”

You’re pretty clear about the term “anti-aging”. Can you talk about that?
I know, it’s so topical “Anti-aging marketing is bad!” But I can’t stand it. To be against aging is to be against what is inevitable for everyone – if we are lucky. So I can’t understand how anyone can write in a product or in an ad campaign. What I hope is that we will begin to lower our expectations for beauty. And I don’t mean that we should think less about ourselves or that we shouldn’t be enough. I hope you start to realize that we are as good as things.

You’ve been very vocal about the aging process, especially since you turned 50 in 2019. How did it feel to achieve that milestone?
Sometimes I feel so excited at this stage that I want to scream from the rooftops. I have nothing to prove to anyone! I wake up on other days and feel bad. It’s been a tough year overall. Her father fell ill and recently died. It’s another thing about middle age: it was time to lose a father. That loss made me feel like a child again. Suddenly, I felt like I was six years old and lost in the supermarket. But it really changed my thoughts about old age. It made me think less about my appearance and keep my body physically strong and healthy. I’ve always been great at taking care of my skin, but now I’m getting better at taking care of my bones and muscles. Every day, despite the feeling of being in my fifties, I try to remember that I am lucky to be here.

Thank you, Stacy!
