Naomi Osaka: Stephen Curry, Michelle Obama and others arrived after leaving the French Open

Naomi Osaka has revealed that Novak Djokovic, Michael Phelps and Stephen Curry are sports stars, as well as former first lady Michelle Obama, who are among those who came out of the French Open after being contacted. Osaka opted to retire from the Grand Slam in early summer to focus on his mental health.

In an essay published in Time Magazine – When he revealed that he had approached many athletes – Osaka wrote, he hoped that “we can take measures to protect sports, especially the fragile ones”, and added that athletes should be able to skip media appearances without punishment.

“There can be any moment behind us when we’re dealing with issues,” Osaka said. “Every human being is doing something on a level.”

Prior to the French Open, Osaka announced that it would skip post-match press conferences to protect its mental well-being. After winning the first round match against Patricia Maria Tig, she did so and was fined $ 15,000 for not participating in the mandatory post-match press conference.

The fine resulted in Osaka being removed from the event.

“Believe it or not, I’m naturally internalized and I don’t shed the spotlight,” Osaka wrote in Time Magazine. “I always try to encourage them to speak up for what I think is right, but that often leads to a lot of anxiety.”

Osaka has been off the court since he left the French Open Selected to skip Wimbledon – which will end on Saturday.

The women’s tennis star will return to the Tokyo Olympics in July, where she will represent Japan.
