Roman ‘Chocolatito’ Gonzalez vs. Juan Francisco Estrada II battle forecast, card, start time, probabilities, current
[ad_1]
In a nine-year rematch, the top two boxing wrestlers in the last decade will be squared off on Saturday to unify the world titles at 115 pounds.
Recovering the prominence regained over the past year, Nicaraguan legend Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez (50-2, 41 KO) will defend his WBA super flyweight title against American champion Juan Francisco Estrada (41-3, 28 KO) against Dallas Airlines Center (20 : 00 p.m., DAZN).
The fight offers a ransom for the 30-year-old young Estrada from Mexico, who has joined a fierce boxing fan in the proclamations to restart since Gonzalez threw out an exciting decision made unanimously in 2012.
The fight was at 108 pounds, with Gonzalez, the decorated four-time champion, making his fifth and final defense of the WBA title before continuing to continue in his weight class. He also arrived at a time when “Chocolatito” was unstoppable, finishing eight of his previous nine opponents.
Estrada kept up with Gonzalez’s terrifying pace, as few opponents could then do. More importantly, he held on to Gonzalez’s tremendous ability to punch, fighting much closer than the scoring cards for distances (118-110, 116-112, 116-112) might indicate.
Both fighters improved on the commercial platform and the critical respect they deserved globally in the years to come, with 33-year-old Gonzalez appearing as if his famous career in 2017 would be a disastrous end.
Wearing the legendary King of Pounds title at Madison Square Garden in New York City he entered the defense of his WBC super flyweight title against the well-known Srisaket Sor Rungvisai.
The first meeting was a bloody war, when Sor Rungvisai won the decision of the controversial majority. But the Thai native would no doubt leave his rematch six months later at the Forum in Inglewood, California, when Gonzalez was so cold when he was asked if he would ever fight “Chocolatito” again.

The aftermath of the fall of Gonzalez from power Estrada divided a couple of fights into action-packed decisions against Sor Rungvisai, both of whom were nominated for the honor of the annual Struggle. What was unexpected at the time was that Gonzalez began to reconstruct the radar in a very subtle way.
In February 2020, Gonzalez dramatically regained prominence, leaving the undefeated Kal Yafai to regain the 115-pound world title before defending himself eight months later and opening the door to a long-awaited second meeting with Estrada as he was caught. Gonzalez’s former title was overtaken by Sor Rungvisai in 2019.
“I have only three defeats in my career, I have avenged two of them and the only one I miss is Roman,” Estrada said. “I feel able to play with him because I’ve already struggled with him, because I know his weaknesses, so we’re focused on winning in a credible way. We’re bringing in a strategy to get everyone out, to get a smart knockout.
“For the first time in front of each other, I got too weak into the ring because it cost me to gain 108 pounds, but I tore my heart out to keep pace and have a good fight.”
Gonzalez has said he hopes the second win against Estrada will help his compatriot and guardian of the Hall of Fame, former Alexis Arguello, equalize in the history books and is confident he will get into the rematch.
“I know how [Estrada] boxes, everything will be seen from the moment the bell rings, “Gonzalez said.” It’s really going to be a very tough fight and you’ll see that when the fight happens. When you prepare the best you can physically and mentally, you do things right at the time of the fight. Everything will be seen at the moment of the fight.
“We’re going to fight smart, throwing punches. The most important thing is to be in good shape, that’s what will help me during the fight. I’m the kind of opponent who doesn’t like to talk a lot, I want to wait until the moment of the fight.”
This card is loaded with weird games. Don’t look at the main events, as we will get a rematch for the women’s welterweight without discussion, as Cecilia Braekhus will take on champion Jenna McCaskill. The 39-year-old Braekhus won a stunning 36-fight victory over McCaskill last August as the challenger got the majority decision to claim all belts at 147 pounds. Now, Braekhus is recovering from the opportunity to correct this mistake and become one of the worst women on the planet.
As for the first title of the card, WBA junior flyweight champion Hiroto Kyoguchi pitted his title against Axel Aragon Vega. Kyoguchi has an unbeaten record of 14-0 with nine playoffs. The 27-year-old has yet to fight in the Western Hemisphere as he makes his debut against Vega. Kyoguchi, however, has had a decent level of competition on his way to winning the 115-pound title.
Fight card, probability
Odds through the William Hill Sportsbook
- Juan Francisco Estrada (c) -180 vs. Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez (c) +155, super fly weight unification
- Cecilia Braekhus -160 vs. Jenna McCaskill (c) +135, no doubt welterweight titles
- Hiroto Kyoguchi -575 (c) vs. Axel Aragon Vega +425, WBA junior flyweight title
Forecast
We expect the war to be overwhelming, especially since the trio of Gonzalez, Estrada and Sor Rungvisai have created five instant classic fights with each other.
The biggest question to get into the rematch is whether Gonzalez, who is already struggling in a division over his optimum weight, can withstand the pace and strength of Estrada at this point in his career. Estrada is a favorite in most sports books and has to be said to be the coolest fighter, winning a lot more.
Gonzalez will select his seats first before settling in at a brisk pace, with no effort to change position, releasing patented combinations using beautiful shoes. But if he doesn’t wait too long or is able to hurt Estrada and gives him a reason not to be an attacker, it will be difficult for Gonzalez to win the decision.
