The red SUV is driven during the Christmas parade in Waukesha, Wisconsin, hitting more than 20 people.

A disposable sports vehicle has staged a Christmas parade in the U.S. state of Wisconsin, killing more than 20 people, including children, and causing “some deaths.”

The incident took place on Sunday at around 16:39 (22:39 GMT) in the city of Waukesha, about 32 kilometers (20 miles) west of Milwaukee.

Waukesha police chief Dan Thompson said an interested person had been arrested and the suspicious vehicle had been recovered.

Police said they have removed the order to take shelter.

“A red amethyst joined the Christmas parade we were doing in the city center. More than 20 people were injured in the incident, “Thompson told reporters.

Asked about the deaths, Thompson said, “I don’t have a specific number at this time.”

They did not know if the incident had anything to do with terrorism, he added.

A video posted on the event’s network showed a red SUV running through the parade, apparently exceeding more than a dozen people.

In a second video, police were shown firing at the vehicle as it collided with street fences.

A local CBS affiliate later showed a photo on Twitter, with the hood wrinkled and the front protector hanging, parked on a sidewalk, looking like it was a red SUV involved.

A woman told Fox6 TV in Milwaukee that the SUV hit a dance group of girls between the ages of 9 and 15. He said the immediate reaction was silence, and then shouted, ran and controlled the injured, Fox6 reported.

Corey Montiho, a member of the Waukesha School District Council, told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that his daughter’s dance group was hit by an SUV.

“They were pom-poms and shoes and they poured hot chocolate everywhere. I had to go from one wrinkled body to another to find my daughter, ”she said. “My wife and two daughters were almost hit. Please pray for everyone. Please pray. ”

A witness said the driver hit the “Dancing Grannies” and at least one person overturned the SUV’s bell, according to a WISN-TV ABC affiliate in Milwaukee.

Another witness estimated that the SUV was traveling at about 64 kilometers per hour (40 miles per hour) when it hit the crowd, the TV channel said.

Photos and videos circulating on Waukesha Twitter followed police cars and ambulances flooding the street covered with Christmas lights after the incident. Crowds gathered on the sidewalks at dusk.

Some of the injured were taken by ambulance to the hospital, others by police and even more so by family and friends, Thompson said.

“As we were returning between the buildings … We saw a crossbeam crossing, put on a metal pedal and rode at full speed on the parade route. And then we heard a loud bang, and just the deafening screams and screams of people hitting the vehicle,” Angelito said Tenorio West Allis a councilor to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Police ran down the street, telling parade guards to protect them in stores, the newspaper said.

Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers said he and his wife, Kathy, were “praying tonight for Waukesha and all the children, families and members of the community affected by this senseless act.”
