PARIS (Reuters) – “Titane”, an imaginative film about a serial killer of young French director Julia Ducournau, won the Palme d’Or for Best Film at the Cannes Film Festival, before jury chief Spike Lee revealed the award.
In a moment of turmoil at the event, U.S. film director Spike Lee jumped his gun and slipped into the biggest secret of the night.
The violent film starring the heroine, when she had sex with the car, garnered rave reviews, while some praised her originality while others backed down with her frantic and confusing approach.
Ducournau, 37, had previously stunned critics with his work “Raw”.
