What is a typical day for you?

Every day is very different, especially now that I have a baby. I try to squeeze in work whenever I can, including phone calls, and make a stop in the studio to stay connected to what I love.

This newborn stage has been a transition and a lesson to keep up with the flow, so it is less structured than usual on a daily basis.

What time is the call to wake up and how much do you normally sleep?

I usually wake up from 5 to 6 in the morning and try to get the baby to sleep early in the afternoon, but it changes weekly and sometimes every day. I usually sleep five or seven hours from 9pm to 5am. I wake up and immediately take a big glass of water. I love ice water, so I usually fill a huge pot of masonry with reusable jelly straw to hold while I feed Theo, then coffee with milk. I like to workout in the morning, so after letting Theo take a nap I’ll go for a run in the neighborhood or take me for a walk on the beach.

What is the first thing you do when you wake up?

Feed the baby! My husband JP usually wakes me up and brings me coffee and then I take a shower for as long as possible. Today I feel like a five minute shower is a spa day if I get that.

What is the morning job like before work?

I love lying in bed while I can. I love my bed and working from bed from time to time is such a pleasure. But I don’t do that often (enough) … maybe on a rainy day.

What do you always have to ensure a smooth and successful morning at the night table?
A lot of water, a breast pump, a muslin burp cloth, a pacifier, an antique tray and a vintage shell that serves as a jewelry dish,
Aveeno moisturizer, Labello chapel, scented candles or oils that return me to the ground and the last book or magazine I received.

What rituals set you up for success?

Arriving when I need help, keeping family and friends close, keeping true to what I want, all of which serve me to achieve success and happiness.

What do you eat for breakfast?

When I was pregnant I started craving smoothies. From 10am to 11am I usually have breakfast and make smoothies or I have a hard boiled egg.

Here is my breakfast smoothie recipe:

  • a handful of spinach
  • tsp. peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • a handful of oats
  • 1 boiled beet
  • a handful of blueberries
  • 3-4 strawberries
  • half a banana
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Ice ball

Mix everything and serve. It’s enough for two people.

How has morning habit changed during quarantine and why?
My morning habit has definitely changed since the days before the pandemic. Not only did our daily habit change due to quarantine, I also had a baby and bought a new home, both of which turned our normal daily routine upside down.

When we bought it we renewed the first thing we did for the house and added an extra toilet. It’s probably the room I spend the most time on. I wanted to take a shower, big enough for the whole family. I like to walk in the steam and feel that I am releasing all my toxins and helping to decompress and renew my skin and body after a long night or a long workout.

I like to get on the computer early in the day when I have the most energy and feel the most productive.

I can even put in a few hours when Theo sleeps. I like to sit at the kitchen table and fill a huge pot of masonry with ice water, lemon and your favorite jelly straws. I carry it around the house all day. I believe that water is the best medicine.

Describe your morning beauty routine from start to finish.
I have a pretty minimalist beauty routine, even more so now that I’m newborn.

I like quality products, but I don’t like to overdo it with overpriced product. Where and when I can I keep it natural.

Usually in the morning I will just spray my face with warm water and get dressed Iris and Romeo Best Skin Days Cream dyed with SPF. Tthe hat covers everything without much coverage. Then I will add them Sunnies Face Air Blush Doll to the apples on my cheeks. I started using it Merit Clean Lash Stretching Mask when I get out of the house and they give me a natural lift that I like. I always lipstick has been dyed with me. I’m focusing on it right now Ilia Balmy Gloss Tinted Lip Lip Oil to get a nice color and not sticky. I love it too Davines hair products. I use it Melu Shampoo and Momo adapter. They have an amazing scent and leave the hair very smooth and shiny.

What are your morning media rituals?
I often read NYT daily electronic information on my phone for breakfast. I’m looking for furniture for a new home, so I’m looking at what’s new in my apps. I love the offerings and the Facebook Marketplace to find vintage pieces.

What are your favorite books?
At the moment, I am currently reading a lot of children’s books, but mostly picture books. I started collecting
vintage Vogue house also for inspiration.

What is your favorite soundtrack?
We’ve been listening to a lot of jazz lately. It puts me in a good mood and immediately transports me to a quiet cocktail bar somewhere tropical.

Do you train in the morning?
Yes, I like to train in the morning. Usually I run / walk with my son Theo on the beach or I ride a Peloton bike.

What is your daily uniform and how has that changed in the quarantine?
I have started to grow my light house dress collection so that it can usually be in my daily routine. They are a combination of pajamas that can also be worn to cover beaches. I always look for comfortable and comfy dresses.

I like to wear a dress more than a couple of sweats because it gives me something feminine and something I’m not preparing to tighten.

And of course, the earrings I always wear are mine Pine hoops“They’ve become neutral for me,” and if I leave the house I’ll throw a necklace or a wrist.

If you had one more hour every morning, how would you use it?
We lay in bed, slept, designed new jewelry, or recently started working in our backyard to spend time.

What are one or two things you do every day to live today / bigger / happier?
Growing up, dinner was the most important meal of the day. We sat at the dinner table every night as a family and reflected on the day. We have also become this daily ritual. JP and I like to cook together, and this is a special time in our lives with Theo that we want to prioritize the daily ritual.

(Dinner) is a time to pause and unwind together as a family, to enjoy good food, and to reflect on everything that goes on in our crazy lives.

If you were to determine your success at some point or moment, what would that be?
There have been a few small moments that have really made me feel successful and full.
