Google Pixel 5A Review: Still the best offering on Android

In any case, one of the biggest reasons I recommend you buy this phone is performance. Like the previous Pixels in the A series, you can run any app or game comfortably and you’ll rarely find it slow. I was able to play one of the most graphically demanding mobile games, Genshin Influence, and was hardly slow. (True, I had to play with the Low graphics option, but the game looked great).

Then there is the software. As is common with Pixel phones in all bands, Google has introduced some really smart and helpful features that you won’t find on other phone lines. The call screen is my favorite; I can screen calls from unknown numbers, I will never have to answer an annoying robocall. Another grace of saving the voice recorder app is that it automatically transcribes oral voice recordings (and accurately!) And backs them up online. But all my favorite time it remains Now Playing, which automatically detects the music around you and lets you know the name of the artist and song, even if it’s offline. The Pixel 5A features three-year security updates and three versions of the Android operating system, which is more than most budget competition. Samsung is the only Android manufacturer to recently overtake Google, as it promises four years of security updates. Luckily, Google plans to match or surpass that, but at least every three months you’ll get additional software features within Google’s “Feature Drops” movie, which may also include new tricks to come. Unique cameras

5A cameras are no different 5. pixel and Pixel 4A 5G, but continues to improve Google’s photo processing software. This means that you are getting high quality photos without spending a fortune. (This also includes some new video features that Google introduced last year.) Seriously, I’ve been testing the Pixel 5A Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip3, A $ 1,000 phone, and I often prefer Google results.

With Night Sight, the camera’s dedicated night mode lets you link multiple photos taken at different exposures, so you can take accurate low-light photos that exceed images on phones that sell at double the price. Put this thing on a tripod and point it at a fairly dark area in the sky, and you can also take stars as Pixel Astrophotography. It will be hard for you to find a better ultramarine camera in this price range as well. Most wide-angle cameras on budget and mid-range phones fail in pure mode when night falls, but not Pixel’s.

I also compared the camera to $ 400 Moto G Stylus 5G, and although Motorola’s phone did surprisingly well, Pixel passed almost every test. This remains the best camera for under $ 500, and that’s another base that makes the 5A an attractive phone.

Crown Pixel

As I mentioned earlier, there are some features that you will find on other phones that are not here. One of them is the high screen refresh rate. Most phones have 60 Hz screens, which means the screen refreshes images 60 times per second. This current trend is to go up to 90 or 120 Hz to show the screen at 90 or 120 frames per second, making the screen more responsive and responsive. The advantage is small but nice and it’s becoming commonplace $ 300 phones. Considering that Google introduced a 90 Hz screen on last year’s Pixel 5, I was hoping to see it here. Ai.

I didn’t miss much else. For the third year in a row, Google is proving that you don’t have to throw anything close to $ 1,000 for a great smartphone. Of course, the Pixel 5A is not exciting. It does not fold, there are no bright colors, and it doesn’t bring anything new to the table. I’d love to see the company pushing the bar. But if what you get is still a reliable phone, it’s still priceless.
