SimpliSafe security system review: easy and secure

We live as much as anyone can renovate the house with smart screens, connected lights, and empty robots without a contract or installation expert. I have been living with the SimpliSafe security system for six months, which includes a security camera, input sensors, motion sensors, a smoke detector and a carbon monoxide detector. SimpliSafe has also come with a base station and keypad that is the core of the alarm system. Judgment? By its name, this is one of the easiest ways to add security to your home, even if it’s not without its oddities.

Easy Peasy

Setup SimpliSafe shines. If you’re able to press a sticky tape against the wall, you can set up any company gadget in no time. Find a place for a base station near the center of your home that works like the brain of the entire system and also includes an alarm and speaker for system status announcements.

The wireless keyboard comes with a tab attached to the back. Take out the back tape, glue it to the wall near the main entrance, press the connect button, and pull the plastic tab to activate the battery. When the base station and keyboard are paired, the system will assist you in setting up through the wizard application.

Adding sensors is like setting up a keyboard, and if you’re not sure exactly where to place them, the included installation booklet has helpful suggestions. Input sensors work for doors and windows. In a room with many windows, it is easier and cheaper to use a motion sensor. If you need more sensors, you can buy the ones you want, stick them on the wall and press the connect button. When you move, it’s easy to disconnect and move the sensors.

I like that there is no wire to run anywhere except the base station that connects to the wall. All others use replacement batteries and should last for a few years. The base station also has replaceable batteries and a cellular connection, so if you turn off the power or turn off the Wi-Fi, the system will continue to operate. Its batteries will last for 24 hours and will be recharged when it is turned on again.

Using SimpliSafe is free, but you can choose to pay $ 15 a month for controlled security, which allows you to access the company’s monitoring centers that are managed by real people 24/7. They will try to call you, and if you need help or don’t answer, they can choose to send police, fire trucks, or ambulances to your home. There is another $ 25 a month plan more advantages, but SimpliCam is aimed at people who use camcorders (more on that later).

Sensory overload

SimpliSafe has a bunch that you can choose from with different types of sensors and hardware, but if you’re overwhelmed I recommend starting with the Essentials package ($ 259). In addition to the base station and keyboard in all the packages, it has three input sensors and a motion sensor.
