Texas will accept drastic new voting restrictions

Republicans in Texas were ready to pass a new law to tighten voting restrictions in America’s second most populous state, with the party’s latest aggressive move to restrict access to votes across the country.
The new Texas law would send it by mail, pass it and cast Sunday’s vote, which is the Republican-controlled state, including the voting limits introduced by Florida and Georgia this year.
It would also make it easier for defeated candidates to compete in election results through the courts – as former U.S. President Donald Trump was unsuccessful in the 2020 election against Joe Biden.
The Texas law was passed by the Lone Star state Senate early Sunday after a heated debate overnight with Texas Democrats who are strongly opposed to the law. The lower house of the Texas legislature is expected to approve it on Sunday, before it is signed by Republican Gov. who approves the Greg Abbott law.
On Saturday, Biden issued a stern statement saying Texas law attacked America’s “sacred right to vote.”
“It’s part of the attack on democracy that we’ve seen too many times this year, and it’s often directed at black and brown Americans being overbearing,” the U.S. president said. “He’s wrong and he’s not American. XXI. In the century, we should make it easier for all eligible voters to vote, not harder, ”he added.
Jaime Harrison, chairman of the Democratic National Committee, called “Jim Crow 2.0, plain and simple,” in a tweet.
Congress Democrats are trying to counter the Republican effort to set new limits on voting by passing laws that would ban certain restrictions at the federal level and ensure voting for elections. But while the legislation is passed by the House, it is stalled in the Senate because the Democratic majority has not avoided the Republican opposition and passed the 60-vote threshold required to pass legislation.
Voting restrictions were approved Georgia it caused a rift between Republicans and American companies earlier this year, where many large companies are struggling to maintain legislation that limits the ability of people who are under pressure from workers and the public to vote.
Tensions have risen sharply due to the support of many Republican lawmakers over Trump’s efforts to overthrow 2020 election results. Texas law shows that Republican lawmakers are betting that traditional allies in the business community are unlikely to make a clean break from the party because they still support many of their political goals, including low taxes and light regulations.
The Texas voting law was introduced, as the traditionally deeply conservative state gradually shifted to the left, with Democrats winning re-statewide contests and Republicans forced to defend their advantage there.
In 2016, Trump beat Hillary Clinton by nine points, while Biden won by six points in 2020. Texas has the second-highest representation in the U.S. House of Representatives and the second-highest number of votes from presidential colleges in the presidential election. becoming a key reward for both parties.
Texas Republicans have also sought to limit overcoming aggressive limits on access to voting abortion rights six weeks before the start of pregnancy, while liberalizing gun laws allow people to carry less controlled weapons.
