Texas’s election news is getting closer to passing restrictive voting legislation

The U.S. civil rights group said the legislation will make it “harder and scarier to vote,” especially for people of color.

The Brennan Center for Justice at New York University, which tracks voting legislation across the country, said at least 14 states across the country have enacted 22 laws restricting access to voting from Jan. 1 to May 14 this year, while another ten made their way through state legislatures.
