SHANGHAI (Reuters) – Eight people were killed when a part of a hotel in the Chinese city of Suzhou collapsed and rescue workers were searching for nine people missing in the rubble on Tuesday, state media reported.
Part of the Siji Kaiyuan Hotel in the coastal city took place on Monday evening. The Ministry of Emergency Management sent a team to assist in the rescue work, the media reported.
They were investigating the cause of the collapse, the Xinhua news agency reported. He posted photos combing the remains of rescue workers in search of survivors.
Siji Kaiyuan is a budget hotel that opened in 2018. The part that fell was a three-story building, while an online booking site said the hotel had 54 rooms.
