We’ve been locked inside the house for quite some time. For the safety of our family and colleagues, staying home became the new rule.
What do Singaporeans do when they are stuck at home and do less activity? Well-planned parties became the “thing” that arose from the ashes of the destruction of Covid-19.
Speaking to party organizers and party product vendors, Vulcan Post said it had seen 300 percent more consultations since the government calmed down the rallies from two large group measures in each of the five groups (which was set in the middle). to reduce the spread of the Covid-19 Delta variant).
“The latest announcement that the government has allowed five guests at home has certainly led to much more inquiries and bookings. I’ve secured reservations for next year’s events. So far, I’ve received 300 percent more inquiries,” said Mary Soltysia, founder of Style & Co Events. and directors.
In fact, the party and event companies we talked to said that during the pandemic, customer demand has taken their businesses by surprise. When Covid-19 arrived in 2020 they thought it would be the end for them, but the business got better.
Dora Lee, founder of the balloon company Funlah, said: “During the pandemic, gifts became very popular and the demand for home celebrations increased. This helps us raise awareness and eventually demand more.”
Online sales take the lead
Dora said that among Covid-19, most of her customers place their order online. Some people also prefer to chat with them before ordering online via WhatsApp or Messenger, as this is the first time they have received the balloons.
“Customers will place orders online and select the preferred delivery time and date for payment. Most of our customers place orders in advance and we also deliver on the same day, according to our schedule and workforce,” Dora said.
Mary said it is based on the usual and references. “I get in touch with new clients, mostly from referrals. For example, after going to events that love style and setup (or their kids) for Style & Co., they would get in touch with me or recommend our services.

“Customers can easily book through direct mail or websites. For all inquiries, my marketing platform provides me with style issues, pricing, and booking details. I request a booking deposit to secure the date of the event and request a final payment one week prior to the event, ”he said.
Style & Co’s event setup costs $ 380 for basic indoor picnic settings, and table style starts at $ 450. According to Mary, picnics and table style are the most requested configurations, with Boho style being the most popular style theme.
“Earnings gain depends on the configuration, complexity, time invested, and customer requirements. Style & Co. has a wide range of themes available, and I supply a large inventory of decor and style pieces to suit my clients’ needs,” said Maryk.
The challenges of Covid-19
According to Mary, she believes that the reason for the client to expand to these events is despite the fact that the party is smaller because Covid-19 has emphasized the importance of spending time with family and friends.
“Customers will also organize a simple celebration at home with family and friends to help lift the spirits. And that’s why we try to make it a memorable experience at all times,” he said.
As for the pandemic celebrations, the most affected are children, he said. “Restrictions limit the number of guests, which means they have fewer friends who can come and celebrate with them on their birthdays.”

As the restrictions increased, it became more difficult to organize events. “For example, only two guests from the house were allowed for the celebrations, but luckily they are still entering event reservations but with smaller configurations.”
Therefore, when Singapore went to two gathering restrictions per group, the business owner decided to allow its customers to enjoy the event setup for two nights in a row at no extra cost to invite two more guests the next day.
“It’s a small indication of gratitude that the customers didn’t cancel the booking, and that’s why I got loyal customers who re-booked me for the next event,” he said.
Year-end applications and growth plans
The end-of-year holiday season lasts until the Chinese New Year (usually in January or February of the following year), which is a time when party organizers and vendors make money. Business owners agreed.
Dora said demand and inquiries have risen by 20 to 30 percent this quarter compared to other times.
Mary added: “The company has been very happy, growing three times over the last year. it gives me the impetus to pursue my passion. ”

Thanks to the internet, Maryk also receives style consultations outside of Singapore, and clients say she has been inspired by her work. “This positive feedback is truly unexpected, and I am grateful and determined to provide the best service to my customers. The income is more than I expected. ‘
But business owners don’t rest on their laurels and want to hit the iron while it’s hot.
“My style has expanded to include many more services this year: retail style, photo shoot, and Christmas tree style,” Maryk said.
“I have been constantly developing new offerings to make the celebrations more interesting for the customers. We have been at the forefront of Singapore’s unparalleled entertaining experience for event-themed, luxury picnic-style and table-style services, ”he said.
