The U.S. carried out airstrikes on Sunday afternoon against what it said were facilities used by two Iranian-backed militia groups on the border between Syria and Iraq.
Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby said operations and weapons storage facilities were targeted, two in Syria and one in Iraq, which were being used for drone strikes against U.S. troops and facilities.
