Anderson Silva’s return to professional boxing was a huge success for UFC legend Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. he defeated the former world champion in Guadalajara (Mexico) by handing out the decision. Wrestling was Silva’s first trip to the boxing ring since 2005.

The fight began slowly as the two men felt each other before Silva started playing some mind games that defined his best moments during his UFC career. With Chavez’s early success with more traditional boxing techniques, Silva began to use awkward time and angles – along with the advantage of life-size – to start mixing clean pompoms with Chavez seemingly throwing him out of his game.

Silva continued to release, exiting the owner and forcing Chavez into the ropes again. When Silva started to force Chavez back, Chavez seemed to be disappearing, while he seemed to be getting tired of lowering his work rate. Silva kept his foot on the gas, bleeding over Chavez’s right eye and taking full control of the fight.

At the end of the eight-round contest, it looks like Silva did more than enough to fight on the scoring cards, but he had to overcome one last scare as a judge turned Chavez into a 77-75 scoring card. The other two judges had the same score in favor of Silva, giving them a tremendous victory.

“I feel very happy,” Silva said after the fight. “Hey. I have to say thank you because my coach has worked with me a lot. When I started training, I told the coach that I had to do that because I love wrestling and boxing has been my dream for many, many years and I needed to prove my respect for boxing. and I had to do everything I could. “

Silva beat Chavez 99-53 in the fight and was able to absorb all the punches Chavez pulled out without appearing to be harmed at all. After the fight, Chavez thought he needed to equalize, saying he didn’t throw enough punches, but Silva didn’t hurt during the fight.

The fight could mark the next chapter in Silva’s career as the 46-year-old suggested he could make a quick change to return to the ring.

“Now I’m coming home, my son is fighting very soon,” Silva said. “I’ll be back and help my son and my team. Maybe I’ll fight very soon.”
