Five years together

Josh: “We were both working at Disney World. I was in a parade, and I remember seeing Terrence in the crowd and thinking, ‘Man, that guy is well dressed’. Then I met a friend later at dinner, and I said, ‘Oh my, he’s a parade boy!’ I thought it was very cool for me because she wore all the vintage, and I like Nike shorts and a tank top like that. Terrence was always a very safe space for me. My last relationship was awful, but I never had to anticipate it with Terrence. We made the trip to Tennessee and it took us 13 hours. As we were moving away from a hurricane, the traffic was tremendous. Sitting in that car with him all day and seeing how he reacted to the inconvenience, I calmly realized: I loved him. “
Terrence: “Josh was my first serious relationship, so I was learning to live with another person. The moment I knew it was love was when we visited New Orleans. I was sick, and she was very sweet and made sure I took care of her and had a good time. He wrote the most beautiful letters – I still have them all in the attic. “We also got professional photos to send, and we flew in to visit and get to know each other’s families. I think it was more that we loved being around each other and that we loved each other enough to keep in touch, for long distances, for so long.”
Charles: “I met his friend in Oklahoma and he told me he needed to meet someone. I asked, “What is it like?” They showed me his picture and I thought, ‘This is the face I could fall in love with’. Once we went down to visit me and went to eat at one of my favorite restaurants. The next week I went back to the restaurant alone and looked at the empty chair on the table. I knew I loved it because I couldn’t imagine going there without going there. “
Mimi and Pedro
Married for 11 years

Mimi: “We have known each other since we were 13 or 14 years old. Falling in love with him is something that is still going on, all the time.
